Necropolis of Armenian Royal Family Found in Urfa (present Turkey)

According to the Turkish website Karar.com, archaeologists suggest that during the excavation, they found the tomb of the family of king Abgar. They believe that 10 members of his family are buried in the tomb.

The King of Spain tried to save Armenian intellectuals in 1915

Alfonso XIII(Armradio) - The King of Spain Alfonso XIII tried to save the outstanding Armenian intellectuals detained in April 1915. Archives reveal the King sent a letter to the Ottoman Government at the time, Akunq.net reports.

In a response letter to the King, the Ottoman leadership falsely said the Armenian intellectuals had been launching a revolutionary activity and said outstanding figures like Aknuni, Daniel Varuzhan and Siamanto had escaped to Russia.

Armenian-French-Iranian archaeological expedition excavates the oldest street of Yerevan

Armenian-French-Iranian archaeological expedition has discovered the most ancient street of Yerevan in the territory of the Urartian city of Erebuni, head of the Armenian team of the expedition Mikayel Badalyan told reporters Thursday, July 7.

"This year, a 30-meter-long street with beautiful tiles has been found near the temple of Khaldi in Erebuni museum-reserve. It is 2700 years old,” Novosti Armenia cited Badalyan as saying.

But the celebrations marking 20th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces got underway on Friday, as President Serzh Sargsyan awarded medals and decorations to several participants of the Karabakh movement. Also, a number of military servicemen received officer’s ranks.
